For sale is a beautiful and rarely seen 1930 Norton Model 20.

The Model 20 is similar to the well known Model 18 (also 500cc OHV), the only difference being the addition of a twin port head. The Model 18 needs no introduction, they were the dominant force on the road and in races from 1923 and onwards. The 500cc OHV engine was very fast for its time and coupled with efficient brakes front and back, the success for Norton was inevitable.

The Model 20 was introduced in 1930 keeping the race proven engine layout of the Norton Model 18 of the 1920s. In 1931 the engine layout was changed entirely across the model range moving the magneto/dynamo to the rear of the cylinder. Essentially the 1930 Model 20 is therefore a one year only.

This particular Norton Model 20 is an older, and very thorough restoration. All work has been done with great attention to detail. All original tinware. The condition of the Norton is mint or very near mint condition. The bike is truly stunning to look at.

The Model 20 is fitted with the elegant, long saddle tank introduced in 1929. The original Sturmey Archer CS gearbox is also fitted. A Bosch magdyno and headlight, as fitted from, new, is still fitted. Original Lucas rear light. Original Enfield rear hub.

The paint and chrome is in superb condition throughout. The petrol tank has been sealed and is like new inside.

The Norton is fully sorted, starts first kick and is a pleasure to drive.
