1932 BSA G32-10 986cc V Twin

There is something particularly impressive about the big BSA V-twins of the early 1930s. While most motorcycles of the period were modest singles, the G32-10 sat at the other end of the range: a substantial 986cc V-twin built to cover distance, carry a sidecar and simply keep going. It was BSA’s flagship machine and represented the company’s long-established approach to building large, dependable motorcycles.

The 1932 G32-10 uses BSA’s proven 80 x 98 mm side-valve V-twin, with its cylinders set at 50 degrees, producing a strong 9.86 hp. A three-speed gearbox, enclosed primary drive and robust chassis underline its intended role as a serious road and touring machine. The engine’s long stroke gives it plenty of low-speed torque, while the V-twin layout makes for a remarkably smooth and purposeful character on the road.

This beautful example is in remarkable time-warp condition and still carries its original paint and chrome throughout, now graced with the most beautiful patina.

The BSA has come from long term ownership stretching back to the 1960s. A young gentleman purchased it then, rode it a little but soon after stored the BSA. It stayed in his ownership eveer since and always in dry storage. The engine was turned over and oiled regularly and the engine now turns over smoothly with good compression. The gears select when the rear wheel is turned by hand, the clutch engages, the front and rear brake function, the valve release engages.

Needless to say, it would be a great shame to restore this BSA V-Twin, it deserves to be kept in this faboulous original condition, only focusing on going over it mechanically and getting it road worthy again.
