1945 Harley Davidson WLC. 750cc V-Twin
1945 Harley Davidson WLC. 750cc V-Twin
A lovely older restoration of the trusted WL introduced in 1937. The WLC was the civilian model and shared the same 750 SV V-Twin engine with the WLA that served many a serviceman during the WW2.
The WLC has been in a collection of motorcycles and as such has not seen much use since restoration. It has just been been recommissioned after standing still for a year.
The WLC starts first kick and idles along steadily. The engine was completely rebuilt as part of the restoration and sounds very strong.
Paint and chrome in fabulous and very presentable condition. The bike looks beautiful in its black and red paint scheme.
There is a sturdy rack made from stainless steel fitted. It holds the pannier leather bags and the rear passenger seat. It will come off in a matter of minutes and is using existing bolts only, so it leaves an undrilled rear fender.
On the moden EU registration document, the HD is registered as a 750cc 1934 HD Model R. This registration has followed the bike since 1946 and is most likely due to a replacement crankcase. The original registration document dates this change back back to 1946 so I believe this was done by an official HD dealership, to replace a faulty or damaged crankcase. All parts of the HD and the cranckase and entire engine is clearly WLC.
Registered for the road with current EU registration documents.
