This rare and captivating project, the 1948 Cisitalia 202 Corsa chassis # 067, is one of just three build for the 1948 Mille Miglia.

Chassis # 067 made its competition debut at the 1948 Mille Miglia as car number 15, racing alongside two sister cars. All three cars exist to this day and are accounted for: chassis 066 is with a private collector and Cisitalia expert in the US, while the third is part of the Toyota Museum Collection.

Driven by Scagliarini, chassis # 067 finished an impressive 5th overall in the 1948 Mille Miglia and won the 1100 cc class, completing the 1,823 km event in 17 hours at an average speed of 107 km/h.

Later that year, chassis # 067 competed in the Targa Florio as car number 7, where Piero Taruffi drove it to 2nd place overall (and first in class), surpassed only by a Ferrari 166S with a 12-cylinder engine!.

Cisitalia was founded in 1946 and introduced the D46, one of the first cars to use a tubular spaceframe chassis, developed due to post-war material shortages. The company went bankrupt in 1949, after which founder Piero Dusio relocated to Argentina, bringing chassis # 067 with him.

Chassis # 067 was later sold to David Speroni, a well heeled farmer, who raced it during the 1950s. When the car was discovered in 2017 by Cisitalia expert, the late Sergio Lugo, the car had remained stored in a barn since the early 1960s and was found complete, operational, and retaining its original drivetrain (engine no. 212 MM), as confirmed by factory documentation and Cisitalia experts. The current custodian purchased chassis # 067 directly from David Speroni.

Chassis # 067 has never been to the market and offers an exciting and authentic opportunity to restore a Cisitalia with geniune racing pedigree to enter in the Mille Miglia just as chassis # 067 did so succesfully in period. The Cisitalia will be equally welcomed at any major Concours show.
