1951 Vincent Rapide to Black Shadow Specification
1951 Vincent Rapide to Black Shadow Specification
This beautifully build Vincent Rapide was restored in the early 1990s to Black Shadow specification. The build centered around a complete 1951 Vincent Rapide engine and a 1951 Comet frame with matching upper and rear frame (UFM and RFM). The restoration was done by a very skilled engineer who has several Vincent restorations to his name and forty+ years of experience with Vincents.
Restored to correct Black Shadow specification with a few subtle upgrades such as twin 5inch Black Shadow clocks, giving the rider a magnificent and clear view of both the speed and the engine revolutions.
Black Lightning vented brake plates and Black Shadow brake hubs are laced to mint condition Borrani Record alloy rims. Correct Miller headlight and rearlight together with the correct MIller 6V dynamo.
Correct Amal 276 carburettors.
The Vincent remains in very good condition both cosmetically and mechanically. With the speedo reading just 1434Kms it is no wonder.
There is some minor crazing to the paint on top of the petrol tank, apart from this, all paint and chrome in very good condition.
The Vincent has been in a collection with the same family since 1991. With full previous history.
A very nice and purposeful looking Vincent Twin that only needs a quick recommissioning to get it on the road again
Registered as a 1951 Vincent Black Shadow with current EU registration documents.
