Outrun Tom Selleck!
With approximately 270 hp available, the 1989 Ferrari 328 GTS would easily outrun its predecessor, the iconic 308 GTS which had ‘just’ 235 hp available and was driven to fame by Tom Selleck in Magnum PI, to the likes of many a man and woman.
The Ferrari 328 GTS represents the final and most refined evolution of Ferrari’s classic transverse-V8 Berlinetta line that began with the Ferrari 308 GTB. Introduced in 1985 and produced until 1989, the 328 combined timeless Leonardo Fioravanti design at Pininfarina with improved reliability and drivability, making it one of the most usable classic Ferraris today.
Performance remains impressive even by modern standards, with 0–100 km/h in approximately 5.5 seconds and a top speed of around 263 km/h. The GTS version features a removable targa roof panel, allowing open-air driving while retaining the structural rigidity of the Berlinetta.
This example was first delivered via ‘IFS Importation Ferrari’ in Switzerland on the 27th of October 1989 and then relocated with its second owner to the Canary Islands in the mid 1990s.
According to its chassis number, it is the 60th last produced of the 328 GTS, so a very late production model. Finished in its original colour of Rosso Corsa over beige leather, a classic Ferrari specification that perfectly complements the car’s clean lines and elegant interior.
The 328 GTS has a total of 49.651km on the speedo and underwent a major service in December 2025, including new belts and a complete reconditioning of the Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system with a specialist, ensuring the car runs exactly as intended. The reconditioned Bosch K-Jetronic Injection system alone amounted to €3000.
The service book is complete with all stamps and services done at the recommended intervals. In the last 27 years this 328 GTS has travelled just 20.000km.
The condition is impeccable inside as well as outside, with just a few little marks on the paint above the front spoiler to detract from an otherwise beautiful appearance. Inside the original leather was treated to a clean and nourishment as part of the recent service and the interior appears like new. When seated in the cabin, it is hard to believe this car is nearly forty years old, the leather clad dashboard, the steering wheel, the instrumentation, the centre console, everything is in pristine condition and the feel is that of car that has barely been broken in.
The 328 GTS is widely regarded as one of the most desirable and reliable classic Ferraris, combining timeless design, engaging performance, and genuine usability and this Ferrari 328 GTS is a prime example of that with its low mileage, documented service history and recent major service and the added bonus of a life lived in a dry and sunny climate.
